On the Navigation License course, you'll learn to navigate safely in a fast-paced and entertaining course. Earn your "Titulín" at the Port Olímpic in Barcelona.

Course method and structure Weekday navigation license

In the 2 hours of theoretical class and 4 hours of practice, during the week, your instructor will help you understand and assimilate the fundamentals of safe navigation and the regulations.

In the Navigation License course you will learn

Basic notions of navigation.
Passage preferences between vessels.
Interpret the maritime buoyage.
Make essential knots.
Collision prevention rules.
How to dock and undock.
Choose a good place to anchor.
Basic notions of radio communications.
How to act in emergencies.

Navigation License Requirements

Be 16 years or older.
DNI, NIE or valid passport.
Complete 4 hours of practice, on a weekday.
Complete 2 hours of theoretical class (before or after the practices).
Nautical Medical Certificate.

Expedition

Once the course is completed, you must send us a digital copy of both sides of your medical certificate and in 15 days you can come and pick up your Navigation License.

Your NL does not expire, just in case you lose it or it deteriorates, you can request a duplicate from the school.

In general, I make a very positive assessment, I highlight above all the ease of completing the theory online, and the subsequent test, as for the practice it has been very didactic, refreshing and remembering the theoretical part, I also highlight the way in which David has explained the class since apart from the fun part such as commanding the boat, he was explaining and giving examples of what can happen to us and how to solve it when we find ourselves in a compromising situation. The course in general is a 10. The online course is at your own pace and very complete, the online tutoring hour is perfect for polishing concepts and clarifying doubts. Finally, the four practical hours are a luxury, they make you see the sea and navigation in a different way, with responsibility.

The practical part was the best part, Luis made the 4 hours very entertaining and dynamic, although I think 10 people learning at the same time was a lot. The online theory was well explained, but the hour with the teacher was repeating what I had already read, so there was little new. Overall I really liked it, thank you.

At the time we took it, the explanatory material was very understandable, both in the written explanation and in the figures that we can see to avoid doubts, and the videos with explanatory content. In short, I find the material enjoyable and easy to understand. I found the teaching staff to be equally enjoyable and friendly, both in the theoretical and practical 4H classes. I was very surprised by the positive feedback from the instructors and the content. I learned a lot. Maybe I just needed to give everyone time to do maneuvers and also learn how to get a boat out of the water, but I understand that this is not part of the course.
