On the Navigation License course, you'll learn to navigate safely in a fast-paced and entertaining course. Earn your "Titulín" at the Port Olímpic in Barcelona.

Course method and structure Weekday navigation license

In the 2 hours of theoretical class and 4 hours of practice, during the week, your instructor will help you understand and assimilate the fundamentals of safe navigation and the regulations.

In the Navigation License course you will learn

Basic notions of navigation.
Passage preferences between vessels.
Interpret the maritime buoyage.
Make essential knots.
Collision prevention rules.
How to dock and undock.
Choose a good place to anchor.
Basic notions of radio communications.
How to act in emergencies.

Navigation License Requirements

Be 16 years or older.
DNI, NIE or valid passport.
Complete 4 hours of practice, on a weekday.
Complete 2 hours of theoretical class (before or after the practices).
Nautical Medical Certificate.

Expedition

Once the course is completed, you must send us a digital copy of both sides of your medical certificate and in 15 days you can come and pick up your Navigation License.

Your NL does not expire, just in case you lose it or it deteriorates, you can request a duplicate from the school.

The school informed me via email of everything, including changes in the weather, so they advised the use of a raincoat. We were all able to sail during the practice sessions, which were very well spent, even in rough seas. I really liked that they explained the buoys to us during the practice sessions because they are very easy to understand with real examples at the time. The instructor knew how to distribute the time perfectly and used real situations that we were experiencing to explain the theory that we later saw in class. The atmosphere was very pleasant, professional and at the same time fun. The impeccable organization and the instructor's spirit of experience at sea stand out. For me, it was incredible. I would never have expected to have those sensations when sailing and above all how easy and smooth a sailboat is to handle. The lesson was perhaps short for my taste, I would have continued, I wanted more. The instructor was very good, some mistakes on my part due to the language used at some point (there were students from other countries). The boat was good and as the instructor told us it was already a few years old but it was perfect. In general I am very happy with the experience, it would have been perfect if it had lasted longer. Thank you very much.
