Plans and structure of outings with the Navigation Club
Outings with the Club take place every week, in groups of up to 7 participants on board. You will sail on J/80 or Cruise sailboats, setting sail from the Port Olímpic of Barcelona.
Accompanied by a professional Skipper on each outing 2 hours and 30 min. you will enjoy learning something new.
Not paying monthly fees for being a member of the Club is already a great advantage, but also, each trip can be done in different plans, you can come with someone else (consuming two trips) and best of all, they do not expire.
Sailing Club modalities
In each exit you can choose the modality that you want that day: SPORT or CRUISE.
SPORT
They are carried out on the J/80 monotype sailboats (8 meters in length). It is the ideal plan if you are attracted to competition and regattas.
The J/80 are ideal sailboats to learn and enjoy in a light boat, steered with a rod, which reacts very quickly to any change of course, wind or weights.
CRUISE
They are carried out on cruiser sailboats (more than 12 meters in length). It is the ideal plan if the comfort and stability of the boat is what you are looking for.
The ideal cruiser sailboats for long journeys.
Sailing Club Levels
So that you can enjoy each outing to the fullest, with people of your experience as a navigator, we organize the different levels, Basic, Medium and Advanced.
BASIC
The BASIC outings are planned for those who are new to sailing and have everything to learn.
If you are starting out and sailing is something new for you, it is recommended that your first outing be doing the Basic sailing course.
Medium
MEDIUM outings are planned for those who already have enough experience in sailing, either by accumulation of outings, previous experience or having done the cClub specialization courses, such as sail trim or of Gennaker.
Advanced
Outings aimed at lovers of competition and speed. If racing is your thing, at the Advanced level of the sailing club you will find challenges that will take your level one step further.
How do I prepare for an outing with Sailing Club?
- Check the calendar and choose the date that suits you.
- Check the weather forecast.
- Wear comfortable clothing adapted to the party.
- Arrive well in advance before departure.
- If you have a tendency to motion sickness, ask your trusted pharmacy what you can take before boarding.

I first prepared for the PNB at the school and then for the PER with online courses, and I did the internships - including sailing. Now I participate in the sailing club. In all cases it is a serious school, with highly professional and friendly teachers. The online material is very well structured and also allows access to the teacher for questions. And my experience in the internships has always been excellent in terms of the teachers, and the students are very varied (different ages, etc.). It is a good experience and I totally recommend the Escola Port.

My experience at the sailing club is totally positive and highly recommended for anyone who wants to acquire skill in handling sails and rigging. In my case I have been able to sail in situations with winds of 25 knots and rough seas and I can assure you that it gives a lot of confidence to have experienced instructors by your side.

For a long time I was looking for a sailing club in Barcelona where I could share my love of sailing with other people while also being able to learn from people with more experience. After a lot of searching and almost by chance I found Escola Port.
Apart from the official qualifications, they have created a regatta team where sailors with and without experience get together to sail and have a beer, which is exactly what I was looking for.
Escola Port is directed by Rodrigo, an Olympic sailor in his younger days, who now enjoys sharing his knowledge (and battles of course) with all of us. The truth is that it is wonderful to be able to learn as much from him as from the other instructors like Luis or Martín, all of them with a lot of experience in sailing.
If you are looking for a place to learn from scratch, improve or simply get together with people to go sailing, this is your place. In addition, the club works with sailing bonuses, so you don't have to worry if there are seasons when you don't have time to sail. You'll use them when you get back...
I recommend it to 100%

The departure last February 29th in the sport category was with Martín and two other sailors, in total we were 4 people in Venezuela, I think. They were very didactic, Martín at all times explained to us everything we did and all the technical part without skimping on details and encouraged us to ask questions. ..It was a very interesting internship in which I learned a lot and would definitely repeat it.

Perfect organization as always. My first time in J80 Sport I really enjoyed it. The instructor, Martín, was very professional and prepared, eager to teach basic and advanced maneuvers. I recommend it.
