Requirements for GNP

Requirements to obtain the PNB title - Basic Navigation Skipper

Be 16 years or older

To sign up for the PNB exam or do the internship you must be over 16 years old.
You will need permission from your parents or guardians.

Approve a exam theoretical

In Catalonia, exams are carried out several times a year.
Multiple choice exam, bilingual Spanish/Catalan

Complete the internship

In addition to passing the exam, before or after, you must do 2 mandatory practices:
Navigation 8 h and Radio 4 h.

Expand powers?

If you want to sail sailboats, in addition to the mandatory, you must do complementary practices.

Pay fees

Exam
Signing up for the exam requires payment of the registration fee.
In addition to filling out the registration form for the corresponding call within the indicated period.

Expedition
To process the title you must pay the issuance fee.
When you have passed the exam and the practices.

Nautical Medical Certificate

When you go to process the title you must pass a psychophysical examination and attach it to the application.
Only the one carried out in driver recognition centers authorized by the DGT is valid. Once completed, it expires after 90 days. It is important that you do it after passing the exam and the practices.

Deadlines

To sign up for an exam there are specific deadlines, which you can consult at EscolaPort, the website of the Generalitat of Catalunya or your CCAA. 

To request the issuance of your title, the maximum period will be 24 months.
From the date the exam notes are published. If you have not done the internship you have 23 months to complete it and issue the degree.
Or from the date on which the internship has been completed. If you have not passed the exam, you have 23 months to do so and issue the title.

Period of validity

The title is valid for 10 years.
To renew it you must pay the corresponding fee and provide a medical certificate.

    The instructors, very much, both theory and practice. Connect the subject and the tricks to pass the exam.

    The book, very clear and graphic. The platform includes videos, exams and texts to review at home, very practical and efficient.

    Not so much the management of the practices, since there is going to be a cancellation of classes by surprise and at a very short time, and I believe that I have few data to read during morning time, especially the radio ones, which are going to be taken a lot.

    I knew that it was still impossible for the course in Catalan because our language disappeared when there was a Spanish-speaking sun enrolling in the course, but I have seen that now it happens to all the schools. Amb tot, the classes in Catalan from Miquel to the web, a 10!
